Subject: Fire Safety Requirements for Temporary Workers' Quarters in uncompleted Permanent Buildings on Construction Sites

1. In view of current shortage of workers’ dormitory to accommodate foreign workers, The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) has formulated the attached fire safety requirements to allow the use of uncompleted permanent building(s) on construction site to house those foreign workers working within the same site.
2. This set of fire safety requirements was drafted to facilitate the ease of converting the uncompleted permanent buildings on construction sites to workers’ quarters without compromising the fire safety.
3. The requirements shall take immediate effect. The information is also available in CORENET-e-Info: http://www.corenet.gov.sg/einfo.
