In 2012, the Singapore Contractors Association (SCAL) contributed a sum of $1,000,000 (with government matching) to the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) to establish the SCAL Scholarship.
With the objective to groom a pipeline of talents for the construction industry, the contribution has enabled the creation of up to four scholarships annually at NTU’s School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
SCAL participates and sponsors for its members a Scholarship programme that is run by BCA and supported by Singapore Government. The programme co-funds the undergraduate scholarship / sponsorship offered by industry players to help attract more and better calibre students to join the built environment sector. Scholarships are awarded to students with higher calibre while sponsorship aims to reach out to a wider pool of talents.
