The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported that five foreign workers staying at two different dormitories were tested positive for measles this month. Three have fully recovered and have been discharged, while two are currently in a stable condition.
Measles is a highly contagious disease which can spread very easily through the air by coughing, sneezing and breathing. MOH has encouraged employers and foreign workers to actively undertake precautionary measures to prevent its spread by enhancing monitoring, sending those who are not vaccinated for check-ups and jabs if necessary, and promptly sending workers to seek medical help if they feel unwell.
SCAL would like to urge all members and construction firms to stay alert. Please refer to attached advisory for more information.
