SCAL Blood Donation Drive 2020

In collaboration with the Singapore Red Cross, SCAL will be organising its Blood Donation Drive on Friday, 24 April 2020  from 11:00am to 5:00pm at the SCAL Multi-Purpose Hall, Construction House, 1 Bukit Merah Lane 2 Singapore. 159760.

Blood is needed to save lives in times of emergencies and to sustain the lives of those with medical conditions like leukaemia, thalassaemia and bleeding disorders. In the wake of the COVID-19 situation, the authorities have raised alarm that the national blood stocks have dipped to low or critical level (Today, 14 February 2020).

SCAL is appealing to healthy individuals to come forward to donate blood, and give the gift of life for our upcoming Blood Donation Drive. Stringent precautionary measures will be taken to protect the health and well-being of blood donors  in response to the COVID-19 situation.  Individuals who have recently returned from China and other countries identified for travel restrictions to Singapore and under Quarantine Order (QO) or Leave of Absence (LOA) should not be participating in this drive.

Please register via the attached registration form. The deadline for registration is Thursday, 9  April 2020.

The following are the basic criteria for blood donors:

  •        Between 16 and 60 years old (youths aged 16 and 17 are required to submit a signed parental consent form)
  •        Weigh at least 45kg
  •        Have a haemoglobin level of at least 12.5g/dl
  •        Generally in good health
