 12 April 2017

In collaboration with Henderson-Dawson Constituency, SCAL is organising the Clean-A-Home programme on Saturday, 10 June 2017 to reach out to the elderly and needy residents. We are pleased to have the Advisor and Member of Parliament for the constituency, Ms Joan Pereira to grace the event.

The Clean-A-Home programme aims to promote the mental and physical well-being of the elderly and needy through the following:

  1. Improving the safety of the homes by decluttering the units to reduce the risk of accidents and fire.
  2. Improving the sanitation of the homes.

SCAL would like to call upon members to reach out to their staff to volunteer their time over a weekend to help spruce these homes. Each home will require at least 5 to 6 volunteers to perform the following activities:

  • Cleaning of the homes
  • Throwing of rubbish/ old furniture with permissions from homeowners
  • Painting

The CDC will also be providing pest control services for fumigation and replacement mattresses of those homes that are being infected by bed bugs. Volunteers will be provided adequate disposal protective coveralls when entering those affected units.
