CALL FOR ATTENTION: Updates on additional precautions for recovered workers and tightening of border measures with India

With the recent development of COVID-19 cases in Singapore and the region, the Multi-Ministry Taskforce has announced the following the latest COVID-19 measures:

  1. Recovered workers > 270 days to be enrolled back on 14-days Rostered Routine Testing (RRT).
  2. Border measures with India will be tightened

Reminder to adhere to Safe Management Measures (SMM), Safe Living Measures and Rostered Routine Testing (RRT) Regime

SCAL would like to remind all members to adhere to the Safe Management Measures, Safe living Measures and the Rostered Routine Testing (RRT) Regime to minimise risks of a 2nd wave of transmissions in the CMP sector.

  1. Ensure project sites adhere to the Safe Management Measures to minimise intermingling of workers from different companies.
  2. Ensure employers and MW strictly comply with Rostered Routine Testing (RRT) Regime as it is the most important surveillance mechanism.
  3. Ensure workers see a doctor immediately if they feel unwell.

Tightening of border measures with India will further escalate shortage of manpower

SCAL noted that the tightening of border measures for long-term pass holders from India will further escalate the issue of shortage of manpower, we are working with the relevant agencies on multiple fronts to explore other options to bring in workers safely and to seek the Government’s assistance to help the industry.

We will update members on any developments when information is available. In the meantime, we urge all members to be vigilant and do our part to prevent a 2nd wave of transmissions.
