About CM(P)

The Construction Management (Production) Accreditation Scheme – CM(P) is an official accreditation scheme developed by SCAL and endorsed by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).  The scheme aims to: 

•    Validate the skills and competencies of construction professionals in the production management sector.
•    Provide career progression pathways for construction professionals in the production management sector.
•    Enable the industry to have a ready pool of certified, competent construction professionals in the production management sector.


Through a set of competency standards carefully curated to gauge the proficiency of candidates, we hope to recognise competent professionals in this sector. The following seven competencies form the pillar of assessment of the scheme:



 



Three Tiers of CM(P) Accreditation

The scheme is categorised into 3 tiers, each targeted for different group of personnel with working experience in the production management sector.
 
Requirements Tier I Tier II Tier III
Targeted professional Factory manager or equivalent Manager/ Assistant Manager (QAQC, Planning, Production) or equivalent Engineer/ Assistant Engineer (QAQC, Planning, Production) or equivalent
Minimum qualification(s) required Diploma or equivalent (BE relevant) Nitec or equivalent (BE relevant) Nitec or equivalent (BE relevant)
Required years of experience (total) in construction industry
*2 years of experience for Singapore projects required for all tiers
Degree holders 9 years (min 4 years in production) 4 years (min 2 years in production) 2 years (min 1 year in production)
Non-degree holders 10 years (min 5 years in production) 5 years (min 3 years in production) 3 years (min 1 year in production)

Recognition
 

ACM(P) – Accredited Construction Management (Production)

Based on their tiers of accreditation, personnel accredited under CM (P) are entitled to use the designations and post-nominals after their names.
 
  • ACM(P) – Tier I
  • ACM(P) – Tier II
  • ACM(P) – Tier III

Professionals with experience working as Factory Manager, Production Manager/ Engineer, Planner or QAQC Manager/ Engineer in a production setting such as:

  • Integrated Construction and Prefabrication Hub (ICPH)
  • Factory manufacturing Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC)
  • Precast
  • Prefabricated Bathroom Unit (PBU)
  • Structural steel
  • Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) modules
