The Singapore Contractors Association Limited (SCAL) is a not-for-profit organisation representing more than 3,000 construction firms and allied businesses in Singapore.
Since 1937, SCAL plays a pivotal role in being the voice of the construction industry in Singapore through facilitating in various platforms such as bridging closer working relationships between businesses and government agencies, networking events for members, recognition and awards platforms and administering programmes to drive business success.

Founded by the Contractors, for the Contractors
Formerly known as The Singapore Chinese Contractors Association, the association was founded in 1937 with the objective of instilling harmonious business relationships among local contractors as well as ensuring regular supplies of building materials and liaising with the British Master Builders Association.
In 1977, the Singapore Building Contractors Society merged with Singapore Contractors Association and Singapore Contractors Association Ltd (SCAL) was born. This merger had united all of Singapore’s building contractors to give the industry a solid voice and recognition. Thanks to the rapidly growing scale of activities, SCAL moved into its premises, Construction House, in 1984.
