1. Eligibility

Ordinary Member: shall be any corporate bodies, partnerships or sole proprietorships who are registered in Singapore (but not a branch of a foreign registered corporate body or partnership or sole proprietorship) and are actively participating in the construction industry as general or main contractors and are qualified to satisfy the statutory requirements of the Government authorities or other equivalent relating to the building and engineering construction industry or shall be licensed contractor

Associate Member: Corporate bodies, partnerships, or sole proprietorships engaged in the construction industry as subcontractors and shall also include corporate bodies, partner or sole proprietorships with majority foreign equity or managemen

Trade Member: Shall be corporate bodies, partnerships, sole proprietorships including suppliers and product subcontractors, or other relevant entities who are engaged in the construction industry.
2. Application Requirements
With effect from 1 September 2022, all new applications will be done via ONLINE. SCAL will not accept application via email and/or hardcopy submission. It is the applicants' responsibility to ensure completeness of the submissions. Incomplete submissions be rejected.

3. Application Fees
All applications shall be accompanied by payment for the appropriate processing fee as stated in the fee structure. The fee structure is as follows:
Application Fee: $250 (excluding 9% GST)
Payment can be made by the following options:
Transfer via PayNow Corporate to The Singapore Contractors Association Ltd, using the PayNow QR code available at our website HERE.

Successful applications will be notified and required to pay the applicable membership fees before membership is finalised.
5. Annual Fees
Payment for Annual Fees shall be required upon approval of Application. The fee structure as follows:
Annual Fee: $1,200.00 (excluding 9% GST)
6. Accuracy of Information

Applicants must ensure all particulars provided are accurate and complete.

Any incorrect or misleading statements may result in delay, rejection or annulment of membership, with all fees paid forfeited.

9. Validity
The validity of membership will end on 31st December each calendar year.
10. Renewal
Renewals shall be made one month before the expiry of the validity period. Notification for renewals will be sent by SCAL to all members one month before the certificate expiry date.
11. Resignation of Membership

Members intending to resign must provide written notice with a one (1) month notice period.

Notwithstanding the above, a resigning Member remains liable for membership dues pro-rated up to and including the month in which the resignation takes effect, regardless of when written notice is given. Written notice does not waive or reduce this liability for months of membership already consumed.
12. Updates of Firms Particulars
Members is required to advise SCAL immediately for any changes in its management status, address or any other pertinent particulars, which may occur from time to time. Notification of change of firm's particulars should be in writing and accompanied by copies of the supporting documents.
13. Authority of SCAL
SCAL reserves the right to review the membership status from time to time. SCAL is not bound to accept any application notwithstanding that the applicant may have complied with the minimum requirements as set forth. Furthermore, the applicant is also deemed to accept that SCAL is not bound to assign any reasons for rejecting applications or cancel the membership from the SCAL members directory.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms & Conditions, including any question regarding its existence, validity or termination, shall first be referred to the SCAL Council for internal resolution, and failing resolution within thirty (30) days, may be referred to mediation at the Singapore Mediation Centre before either party commences formal legal proceedings.
15. Limitation of Liability and Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SCAL shall not be liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense (including loss of business, revenue or opportunity) arising from or in connection with an applicant's or Member's reliance on membership status, the rejection, delay, suspension or cancellation of an application or membership, or any error or omission in information provided by SCAL.
Applicants and Members agree to indemnify SCAL, its Council members, officers and employees against any claims, losses or liabilities arising from inaccurate or misleading information submitted in connection with an application or membership.
