This presentation showcases an integrated IoT-based Heat Stress and Lightning Risk Alert System developed to enhance safety in outdoor and high-risk workplaces. The solution features a portable IoT WBGT sensor with an LED display that provides real-time heat stress conditions, enabling workers and supervisors to quickly identify environmental risks. When predefined heat stress thresholds are reached, the system automatically activates distributed IoT strobe lights and sirens to deliver clear visual and audible alerts across the worksite. Pre-recorded announcements communicate appropriate mitigation measures, including hydration reminders and work-rest schedules. The distributed alert devices are strategically deployed to ensure warning messages are evenly disseminated across large or noisy work environments. The same alert infrastructure also supports an Automatic Lightning Risk Alert System (ALRAS), providing timely lightning warnings and shelter instructions based on real-time lightning detection data. By combining environmental monitoring, automated alerts, and site-wide communication, the system helps organizations improve hazard awareness, strengthen emergency preparedness, safeguard worker wellbeing, minimize work disruptions, and maintain productivity through proactive risk management.
